UF Men’s Water Polo Club – Head Coach Opportunity

The University of Florida Men’s Water Polo Club is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate coach to lead one of the top collegiate club teams in the country in the Fall 2025 season and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to shape a nationally competitive program with a strong legacy and an even stronger future.

 About the Team:

• Nationally ranked: 6th place at 2024 Nationals, 2nd in 2023 (best finish in team’s 38 year history and the best finish in Florida Division history), 10th in 2022

• Florida dominance: 3x Florida Division Champions (2022-2024)

• Large, committed roster: 30-40 athletes, 3-4 practices/week

• Balanced team culture: Driven to win, yet welcoming and fun

• Student-run: Players handle all logistics, travel, and finances, freeing the coach to focus purely on coaching

Responsibilities:

• Lead 3-4 practices per week (each 1.5 hours)

• Coach at all tournament weekends:

• 2 in-state travel tournaments

• 1 hosted tournament at UF

• Nationals, if qualified (location varies annually)

• Design practice plans, build strategy, and develop players

• No administrative duties required (no budgeting, booking, or planning)

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of water polo strategy required

• Coaching experience preferred, but not required

• Open to recent graduates, alumni, or anyone with a passion for the game

Compensation:

• This is an unpaid volunteer role, but all travel expenses and accommodations are covered as well as free team merchandise

• A stipend or pay structure may be negotiated depending on candidate experience and expectations
